Mayte was born in Valencia, Spain and for the past 20 years, she has performed and choreographed around the world. Her professional specialties include Argentine Tango, Spanish Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, American Ballroom, Latin Dances, and Flamenco. She has become well known in the world of Latin Dance. Ms. Vicens appearances as a dancer and choreographer have been seen in commercials and programs on CBS, CNN, Univision, and Hispanavision.

Mayte is the artistic director and choreographer of the Tango Jazz Fusion Company "Timba Tango" – a sizzling, cutting edge combination of live music and dance that fuses together flamenco, tango, and salsa performed with elegance, mastery and passion.

As a professional ballroom dancer, Mayte has appeared in the motion pictures Mona Lisa Smile (Sony), Stepford Wives (Paramount), and Enchanted (Disney) as principal dancer in New York City.

During her career, she has choreographed and performed in many renowned venues including: The Guggenheim, NY, Garcia Lorca Theater, Sevilla, Spain, Rose Hall & Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, NY, Tropicana, Atlantic City, NJ, Harris Theater, Chicago, National Dance USA, New York City, The Waldorf-Astoria, NY and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC performing with maestro Paquito D’Rivera, in a project called The Jelly Roll Morton Latin Tinge.

Through her classes and workshops, she is committed to pass forward the quality, versatility, and experience that she has obtained through the pursuit of her passions and the collaboration with so many talented people along the way.
